About the Role
Wayve is pioneering Embodied AI for autonomous driving and is seeking a Recruiter to join its Tokyo team. This hybrid role involves identifying, attracting, and hiring top-tier technical and strategic talent to support rapid growth in Japan and globally. You will collaborate with hiring managers to understand business needs and develop talent strategies for various roles, including Fleet Operations, Field Engineering, and Commercial positions, playing a critical part in building high-performing teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and extending offers, while ensuring equitable hiring practices and diverse talent pipelines.
- Act as a key member of the Japan talent team to establish and grow the local footprint in the competitive Japan market.
- Champion a positive candidate experience through transparent communication, timely feedback, and a seamless interview process.
- Partner with hiring managers and Product & Strategy leaders to understand hiring needs and provide consultative guidance on market realities, attraction, and closing strategies.
- Monitor industry trends, compensation benchmarks, and the deep-tech landscape to inform recruitment strategies.
- Contribute to localized employer branding initiatives to promote Wayve as an employer of choice for AI and autonomous driving talent.
- Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment analytics to track metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize the hiring workflow.
Requirements
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in recruitment, ideally within deep tech, mobility, autonomous vehicles, and fast-paced, scaling startup environments.
- Strong understanding of complex technical, product, and strategy-focused roles.
- Proven ability to gather requirements, assess specialized skills, and align hiring strategies with business goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- Ability to build trust with candidates, hiring managers, and senior stakeholders across local and global teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong time management skills, capable of managing multiple high-priority roles and deadlines.
- Proficiency in leveraging data to track progress and report on recruitment metrics.
- A collaborative spirit and eagerness to contribute to the global Talent Acquisition team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with candidates and senior stakeholders.
