About the Role
Monitor the day-to-day functioning of residential units to promote a safe, positive, and therapeutic environment for youth aged 12-18, facilitating behavioral change and skill development.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Youth Care Professionals to ensure continuity of therapeutic services.
- Oversee and assist in conflict resolution to ensure safety using approved intervention techniques.
- Conduct debriefings of crisis situations and complete required documentation.
- Supervise Youth Care Professionals through role modeling, coaching, and training.
- Conduct Information Gathering Interviews and manage disciplinary actions.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation.
- Manage medication packing and administration in the absence of nursing staff.
- Maintain proper client-to-staff ratios by covering breaks and managing staffing levels.
- Oversee on-call responsibilities in the absence of the Program Manager.
- Assist staff in teaching and reinforcing youth coping skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of relevant experience
- 6 months of supervisory experience
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Ability to utilize physical restraints following Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training
