About the Role
Ensures sanitation in the assigned kitchen, maintaining a clean and orderly environment while adhering to food and beverage safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Exhibits a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and associates.
- Signs in on shift report.
- Prepares a tub of pre-soak for silverware.
- Checks dishwasher chemicals and replaces as necessary.
- Sweeps and mops the entire kitchen at the end of every shift, with spot sweeping and mopping throughout the shift as needed.
- Cleans bus carts at the beginning of every shift.
- Assists kitchen stewards in storing delivered products.
- Washes pots, pans, silverware, glassware, and plates as needed throughout the shift.
- Wipes down dish areas at the end of every shift.
- Replaces mop water as needed.
- Sweeps and mops the buffet line at the beginning of every shift.
- Removes trash and boxes from kitchens as needed.
- Maintains the kitchen in good sanitary condition, including mopping floors, running the dishwasher, and cleaning walls, coolers, and equipment.
- Keeps the work area clean and orderly.
- Assists in training new associates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
- Ability to perform operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Work Permit, which requires a background check.
- Successful candidates must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment confirmation.
