About the Role
The Casino housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public and associate areas of the casino property, and its off-site facilities, with a high level of quality in accordance to Casino standards. The ideal candidate will promote a positive image of the property by displaying a pleasant and upbeat personality during each guest interaction and be comfortable responding to and carrying out specific guest needs and requests.
Responsibilities
- Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with guests and associates.
- Performs general cleaning of all casino areas, excluding kitchen and bar.
- Cleans and vacuums all on-site offices and off-site facilities.
- Transports all trash to dumpsters.
- Cleans and maintains front entryway and Porte Cochere of all trash and ashtrays.
- Maintains a floor care schedule including stripping, waxing, buffing linoleum, extracting and buffing carpets, and cleaning/sealing tile grout.
- Cleans and maintains all floor thresholds.
- Polishes brass on doors and bars.
- Extracts gaming tables.
- Maintains a maintenance program for all machines.
- Reports all machine repairs to the Department Manager.
- Performs stain and gum removal.
- Delivers a service level that creates a positive, memorable guest experience.
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment.
- Demonstrates commitment to responsible gaming and alcohol services.
- Ensures prompt and discreet notification to managers of any observed illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
- Promotes positive guest and team member relations.
- Works flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
Requirements
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
- Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Required to push cleaning cart and operate vacuums.
- Must be able to push or lift approximately 50 to 100lbs of furniture, equipment, trash, and linens.
- Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III License.
- Requires a criminal background check.
- Must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment confirmation.
