About the Role

The hotel housekeeper is responsible for cleaning hotel guest rooms to a high standard, promoting a positive image of the property, and ensuring guest privacy and security.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with a smile.
• Clean, organize, and restock guest rooms.
• Ensure guest rooms are stocked with hygiene products, stationery, and mini-bar refreshments.
• Change linens, including mattress pads, fitted sheets, blankets, and pillowcases.
• Dust and vacuum furniture, lamps, and the entire room.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, ensuring they are sanitary.
• Remove garbage and replace liners in receptacles.
• Check and replace light bulbs, clean cups, and stationery.
• Ensure smoke detectors are functional and check remote control batteries.
• Identify and report any broken or non-functional items in the room to maintenance or supervisor.
• Adhere to Akwesasne Mohawk Casino safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Required to push cleaning cart and operate vacuums.
• Must be able to push or lift approximately 50 lbs of furniture, equipment, trash and linens.
• Regularly exposed to toxic chemicals and airborne particles.
• Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming work permit.
• Must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment confirmation.
