About the Role
The Cage Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional front-line guest service, executing promotions, special events, and box office sales. This role involves managing a cash drawer, inventory of cash, coin, and gaming chips, and processing fills/credits for table games. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with co-workers to ensure an efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Exhibits a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and associates.
- Utilizes the 3 Feathers Guest Service Standards during all interactions.
- Handles cash and balances the Cash Drawer, Main, or Chip Bank at the end of the shift.
- Exchanges US & CND cash & coin, slot tickets, gift certificates & table games chips.
- Processes Winners Club Paid out Vouchers.
- Collects and inventories unsecured currency and found money.
- Reports any suspicious incidents to the Cage Shift Manager.
- Cashes personal and travelers checks in compliance with approved procedures.
- Processes Credit Card and Debit Card cash advances and purchases.
- Exchanges Canadian to and from American Currency.
- Handles and addresses cash transaction issues/disputes.
- Records applicable federal cash transactions within computerized software.
- Maintains accurate records of all fill/credit transactions within the chip bank.
- Stays up-to-date with promotional P&Ps and executes accordingly.
- Assists guests with win/loss requests and sends to Revenue Audit.
- Assists guests on the gaming floor with accessing free credit and other issues.
- Enrolls guests in Winners Club and handles routine customer complaints and incidents.
- Issues and redeems promotional comps, coupons, and draw tickets.
- Maintains daily reports.
- Answers incoming telephone calls promptly and courteously.
- Assists in daily cleaning of all areas of the Cage department.
- Attends all mandatory training required by position.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Cage Supervisor/Shift Manager/Assistant Manager/Manager.
Requirements
- Must be responsible and able to work shift work, weekends, and holidays.
- Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III License.
- Requires a criminal background check.
- Must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment confirmation.
Skills
- Proficiency with IGT Advantage and Micros systems.
- Proficiency with Resort Advantage & Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- French language is considered an asset.
- Must be able to count currency & coin accurately and in large quantities.
- Must be able to add/subtract simple math in head.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts using an adding machine.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must have computer operating skills and ability to navigate through email software & program.
- Ability to comprehend procedures involving data entry and transaction recording.
- Ability to understand common terms used with computer systems.
- Regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally push a wheeled cash cart across the gaming floor weighing approximately 100lbs.
- At times may be required to assist with pushing a large fill trolley on wheels with an approximate weight of 1000 lbs.
