You’ll work closely with customers and brokers, providing prompt, professional communication while managing claims through effective investigation, reserving and adjustment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an allocated portfolio of property claims, analysing the first report to determine the nature of loss, coverage and scope of damage.
  • Assess claims in line with Chubb’s service level and quality requirements, as well as the General Insurance Code of Practice, including determining coverage, reserving within required timeframes, making payments, responding to customer queries, providing updates and requesting additional information.
  • Communicate effectively by telephone and written correspondence with brokers, claimants and other relevant parties.
  • Accurately and promptly document all claim developments in the claim workstation file.
  • Participate in Claims Department and company-wide training as required.
  • Seek technical guidance when handling claims that exceed delegated authority.
  • Respond to enquiries and escalations from underwriters, brokers and customers, and collaborate with underwriters, Compliance and other departments as needed.
  • Proactively apply claims policies and procedures, including Chubb’s approach to fraud, salvage, cost containment and complaints.
  • Use sound judgement when determining final claim outcomes, considering the nature of loss, liability, damage, coverage and applicable limits.
  • Negotiate compromise settlements where appropriate.
  • Participate in claims meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Manage the use, work product and expense of external vendors effectively.
  • Monitor service provider performance and processes, making recommendations where needed and escalating breaches to Claims Management.
  • Assist with daily payments, audits and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Support the wider Claims Department and adapt to changing business needs and staffing requirements.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Team Leader.
