About the Role
Northrop Grumman Australia is seeking an entry to mid-level team member for its Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC). This role offers a proactive, hands-on, and evolving environment for building a long-term career in cyber defence, moving beyond traditional log-watching to defending enterprise networks against sophisticated threats with modern tooling and ongoing capability development.
Responsibilities
- Work across incident response and proactive cyber defence activities.
- Analyze logs and alerts.
- Perform threat hunting.
- Conduct incident investigation and response.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security posture.
- Help uplift and tune security controls (IPS, email gateways, EDR, SIEM).
- Assist with improving processes and technologies.
- Support the secure evolution of the environment, including M365, cloud technologies, and emerging capabilities.
Requirements
- Australian Citizenship required.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- Requires a Defence security clearance.
- Satisfy police checks and employment screening verification.
- At least 1 year of experience in a SOC role.
- Solid understanding of networking.
- Solid understanding of common attack techniques.
- Solid understanding of basic incident response concepts.
- Willing to be mentored.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to collaborate well with others.
- Possess integrity, initiative, and a genuine interest in defending systems.
