About the Role

You will help lead a welcoming and efficient checkout experience while supporting our front-end team with service excellence and operational readiness. Through confident leadership, hands-on coaching, and a passion for customer service, you will ensure every interaction reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service.
  • Greet, engage, process, and bag customer purchases, collecting accurate tenders.
  • Supervise the front-end team and provide floor support by delegating tasks, coordinating meal breaks, and ensuring daily readiness for business.
  • Support a culture of trust and inclusion by providing hands-on training and coaching focused on floor operations, service standards, and service excellence.
  • Assist the management team with cashier balancing, change orders, overrides, cart retrieval, and handling returns and refunds.
  • Support closing procedures by delegating tasks and ensuring completion of end-of-day responsibilities.
  • Assist with the safe handling and sale of alcohol at applicable locations.
  • Follow all corporate policies and procedures with particular focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP compliance, and proper equipment use.
  • Support the team with additional duties on a periodic basis.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
  • Partial completion of a post-secondary program plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a similar role (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • The ability to work independently while taking pride in exceptional quality, attention to detail, and strong cleanliness standards.
  • For locations selling alcohol: minimum age of 18 years and Smart Serve certification (or willingness to complete).
  • Strong mathematical skills with a high degree of accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
  • A collaborative leadership style supported by clear and effective organizational and communication skills.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, repetitive movement or tasks, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
  • Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.
