About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled, technically proficient and detail-oriented Principal PLM Systems Engineer within the Intelligent Infrastructure Segment. You will possess a deep experience in Windchill, configuration management, and large-scale data integration. As the Principal PLM Systems Engineer will own the end-to-end management of L11 rack Bills of Materials (BOM), including the seamless integration of Excel-based BOMs into Windchill and the governance of ECO/ECR processes across internal and external stakeholders. You will also bring a strong background in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems, data structuring, and change control, along with the ability to build and maintain a centralized engineering data repository for L11 hardware. - Act as the primary source and gatekeeper for released product data, preventing uncontrolled changes, or data misalignment.
- Partner with mechanical, electrical, and integration engineers to ensure alignment between designs, BOMs, and documentation release.
- Support rapid execution of engineering changes without compromising configuration integrity or audit readiness.
- Define and enforce naming conventions, numbering schemes, and classification rules.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and scaling processes across multiple concurrent builds.
- Initiate change notices to release new BOMs and BOM changes to the appropriate factory.
- Lead the design and deployment of a centralized, cross-functional database to standardize, manage, and track Jabil’s L11 hardware and supplier ecosystem across the Intelligent Infrastructure organization.
- Work directly with rack integration, power, and electrical team members to organize and manage their technical documentation including datasheets, specifications, manuals, and drawings for easy retrieval and reuse.
- Utilize database tools to build out customized data environments (i.e. SQL, Access, SharePoint) for scalable data repositories.
- Create APIs or macros to streamline Excel to PLM integration and database to Excel automation supporting rack integration builds.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in PLM systems, configuration management, release worklogs, and engineering change processes in complex engineering environments.
- Deep working knowledge of PLM tools (i.e. Windchill, Agile, SAP)
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills – a must
- Strong understanding of Excel, automation, BOM, mechanical systems, lifecycle management, and program management
- Capable of assessing projects, articulating risks, and developing project milestones

- Able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Effective at presenting information and responding to management, clients, and public queries
- Capable of influencing others and sharing best practices
- Familiar with stage-gate processes in project lifecycle management (PLCM)
- Able to coach and mentor less experienced engineers
- Experience supporting customer, regulatory, or quality audits.
- Fluent in Spanish is a nice to have.
- Familiarity with configuration challenges associated with product variants, options, and regional differences.
