About the Role

The Institute of Knowledge (IOK) is seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, California. This Full-Time position supports a unique, mission-driven educational organization by maintaining and improving the technical infrastructure for online courses, onsite classes, and community events.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and effective first and second-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and network access.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
• Support audio-visual equipment for classrooms and online learning.
• Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory and create system documentation.
• Assist in the implementation of new IT projects and system upgrades.
• Ensure system and data security by following best practices and protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or in a similar technical support role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems and standard office software.
• Solid understanding of networking principles, protocols, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with user account management, preferably in an Active Directory environment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
• Proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
