About the Role

Adam Smith International (ASI) is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Asia Pacific team in Sydney. This role involves supporting project administration, business development, and proposal support within the international development sector.

Responsibilities

  • Support Program Managers in the Asia Pacific team in the successful management of projects.
  • Track and provide expenditure documentation to support client billing.
  • Establish and ensure completion of relevant trackers for record keeping and retrieval.
  • Support program budget development and ongoing forecasting, including sourcing costs.
  • Assist with work planning and task scheduling.
  • Prepare Terms of Reference/job descriptions and contracts for new consultants.
  • Undertake due diligence for new consultants, subcontractors, and other partners.
  • Manage logistics, including booking hotels and flights for consultants, and organizing visas.
  • Support the recruitment of associates and prepare associate and supplier contracts.
  • Collaborate with global colleagues to strengthen Asia Pacific presence in internal messaging, websites, policies, and working groups.
  • Produce communications materials detailing the company’s experience and capability in the Asia Pacific region.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject (development sector or management).
  • Project administration experience is essential.
  • Interest and experience in work in developing country settings.
  • Must have the permanent right to work in Australia.

Skills

  • Ability to build effective, positive relationships with a range of multicultural stakeholders.
  • High degree of organizational ability, including working well under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize across a variety of tasks.
  • Top-notch computer skills including the full Microsoft suite, especially Excel.
  • Enthusiasm for tackling unfamiliar and challenging problems.
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented.
