About the Role

The Substance Use Counselor will assist patients through medically assisted treatments and offer techniques for handling opioid use. This role involves conducting individual and group sessions to aid with crisis management and coping strategies, evaluating patient progress, and collaborating with healthcare professionals for improved patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services at regularly scheduled intervals.
• Coordinate all services throughout treatment.
• Complete Bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Facilitate, establish, and review initial treatment plans with each patient.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services.
• Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor.

Requirements

• Certified Counselor in the State of California.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward the patient population.
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Salary/Compensations

• $29.76 to $32.76 an hour
