About the Role
As an Accountant at LAP Coffee, you will play a central role in maintaining our financial processes during an exciting growth phase. You will manage ongoing accounting, ensuring our business remains compliant, organized, and scalable. In close collaboration with our leadership team, you will ensure precise operations, support strategic planning, and help build the financial infrastructure for our expansion in Germany.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing across all locations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and account reconciliations to support decision-making and planning.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinating with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Ensure full compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and tax regulations, maintaining audit readiness.
- Serve as the primary contact for auditors and tax advisors on all accounting matters.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting, providing financial insights to support growth.
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and support system implementations during growth.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, retail, or fast-growing startups.
- In-depth knowledge of German accounting, HGB, and tax law, with a strong understanding of compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as DATEV, SAP, or comparable tools.
- Advanced Excel skills, including report generation, data analysis, and clear presentation of results.
- First experience or personal projects in using and implementing AI is a significant plus.
- Fluent German (written and spoken) and good English skills.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and adept in environments where accuracy and efficiency are crucial.
- Ability to work independently and navigate agile environments, maintaining oversight and prioritizing effectively.
