About the Role
The Marketing Specialist supports integrated marketing initiatives to strengthen the Greater Austin YMCA brand, increase awareness, drive participation, and enhance the member experience. This role executes marketing strategies through campaign execution, event marketing, content creation, project coordination, and in-center marketing support, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, on brand, and with high quality across various channels.
Responsibilities
- Execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, social media, email, community, and in-center channels.
- Support marketing initiatives that drive awareness, participation, member engagement, and retention.
- Coordinate campaign timelines, deliverables, approvals, and production schedules.
- Assist with campaign launches, implementation, and post-campaign evaluations.
- Support marketing for community events, center events, seasonal promotions, and special initiatives.
- Coordinate the development and distribution of marketing materials that support successful event execution.
- Coordinate signage, promotional items, and event resources.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to help deliver a consistent member experience before, during, and after events.
- Create, schedule, and publish organic social media content across organizational channels.
- Capture photography and short-form video highlighting YMCA programs, members, staff, volunteers, and community impact.
- Identify opportunities to tell compelling stories that advance the YMCA brand and mission.
- Monitor social media engagement and support community management, as appropriate.
- Coordinate production, distribution, and installation of in-center marketing materials.
- Maintain digital displays, posters, banners, and other member-facing communications.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure marketing materials remain current, accurate, and brand compliant.
- Coordinate multiple marketing projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Manage project timelines and communicate status updates with stakeholders.
- Coordinate creative requests, vendor deliverables, and production schedules.
- Support marketing reporting, project recaps, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist with additional marketing initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in marketing, communications, event marketing, content creation, project coordination, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- A flexible schedule is necessary, including the ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends to support events, organizational initiatives, and other business.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport marketing materials, displays, and event supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Requires regular travel to YMCA centers and community events throughout the Greater Austin area.
