About the Role

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician 2 at Anderson Center for Autism, you will play an important role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of our campus grounds. Your work will help create outdoor spaces that support learning, recreation, independence, and overall well-being for the individuals we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the safety, appearance, and overall functionality of campus grounds and outdoor environments.
  • Perform groundskeeping and outdoor maintenance activities to support a clean, attractive, and welcoming environment.
  • Complete assigned work orders efficiently and professionally, following established procedures.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and maintenance resources safely and effectively.
  • Maintain outdoor spaces, walkways, common areas, and campus properties to promote safety and accessibility.
  • Assist with seasonal grounds activities including landscaping, debris removal, snow and ice management, and storm cleanup.
  • Identify potential hazards and take prompt corrective action or communicate concerns to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Operations team members to address safety concerns and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment failures and preserve campus infrastructure.
  • Support the maintenance and monitoring of water, wastewater, irrigation, and related campus systems.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, documentation, and records of completed maintenance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve departmental goals and complete projects efficiently.
  • Use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to resolve maintenance concerns.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment, tools, and workspaces in a safe, organized condition.
  • Represent the Operations Department professionally through communication, appearance, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.
  • Help ensure individuals receiving services enjoy a campus environment that supports comfort, safety, recreation, and quality of life.

  • Comply with agency policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
  • Present yourself in a professional manner, including maintaining appropriate grooming standards and designated work attire.

Experience Level

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, campus maintenance, property maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction support, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience operating lawn equipment, power tools, tractors, snow removal equipment, or related maintenance equipment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and general repair techniques preferred.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Salary/Compensations

  • $18.00 - $22.50 Hourly
