About the Role

The Surgery business unit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the design and development of advanced surgical imaging technologies, including C-arm systems. This role involves providing technical leadership, driving product integration, and ensuring high-quality software development to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and leadership for software development teams.
• Represent high-quality design and development practices within cross-functional teams.
• Collect requirements, design, implement software, and drive feature integration.
• Interact with cross-modality teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across platforms.
• Develop high-performing, scalable, and innovative end-to-end applications.
• Apply SDLC methodologies including Lean, Agile, XP, CI, and security best practices.
• Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality.
• Build features such as web services and embedded control.
• Assess, optimize, and improve application performance.
• Work on core data structures and algorithms.
• Comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, and applicable regulations.
• Identify and report quality or compliance concerns and take corrective action.
• Ensure compliance of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving deliverables.
• Perform continuous improvement activities for processes and products.

Requirements

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong object-oriented design experience (e.g., C++, Java).
• Experience in embedded software development for hardware-based systems.
• Hands-on experience across the full SDLC.
• Ability to define and author software requirements.
• Experience developing and documenting system architecture and design.
• Experience writing, debugging, and troubleshooting code on target hardware.
• Experience developing automated unit tests and requirements-based tests.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Willingness to work onsite in Salt Lake City, Utah, 5 days a week.
