About the Role

As a Private Wealth Business Development Officer (BDO), you are responsible for sourcing and acquiring new private wealth clients. You will leverage your industry expertise and network to identify opportunities, foster partnerships, and deliver bespoke wealth solutions in collaboration with our talented team. You will work closely with Relationship Managers, Investment and Wealth Specialists, Bankers, Business Development Team Members, and other internal partners.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing and acquiring new private wealth clients (individuals, family offices, endowments and foundations).
  • Identifying opportunities, fostering partnerships, and delivering bespoke wealth solutions.
  • Collaborating with Relationship Managers, Investment and Wealth Specialists, Bankers, Business Development Team Members, and other internal partners.
  • Proactively identify, engage, and convert prospective clients.
  • Curate and partner with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to design and deliver solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Develop, maintain and grow relationships with intermediaries, centers of influence and existing clients to generate referrals.
  • Lead and organize promotional events, educational seminars and roundtables to develop new alliances and formal networks to grow CIBC’s presence in the wealth management space.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships and teamwork to ensure a level of service delivery that is professional, seamless and timely.

Requirements

  • Experienced wealth management professional with 10+ years of experience in wealth management, private banking or a related field.
  • Dynamic sales professional with a proven track record of acquiring and maintaining HNW relationships.
  • Strong network and demonstrated ability to effectively raise assets.
  • Market intelligence by staying abreast of industry trends, competitor activity and industry updates impacting HNW clients.
  • Strong communicator with exceptional communication (oral and written), presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Delivery style reflects an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for growth.

  • Active FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63/65) required or must be obtained within 90 days.
