About the Role

The Gartner Research Board (GRB) is dedicated to critically thinking about the strategic issues confronting technology executives at the world's largest, most complex organizations. Our mission is to carry out big-picture, forward-looking conceptual thinking about obstacles such as disruption from startups, new business models, geopolitical headwinds, and AI-enabled transformation efforts, which CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs may not have the time or bandwidth to address.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct primary research through executive interviews, member discussions, surveys, and ecosystem engagement.
  • Conduct secondary research across industry, technology, academic, and business sources.
  • Draw thoughtful conclusions from complex qualitative and quantitative data, synthesizing diverse and often conflicting inputs into clear, evidence-based perspectives.
  • Propose and test insight-rich ideas through primary and secondary research and translate findings into polished written, graphical, and verbal deliverables.
  • Support the development of research reports, executive presentations, member discussions, and conference content.
  • Build relationships with industry leaders, academics, startup executives, and other thought leaders.
  • Utilize approved AI tools to accelerate learning, explore alternative perspectives, improve efficiency, and enhance member value.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of research methodologies, deliverables, and team practices.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in research, advisory, consulting, strategy, policy, or related analytical role.
  • Experience interacting with senior business, technology, or functional leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting impactful research on issues relevant to executive audiences.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated interest in, technology trends, business strategy, workforce dynamics, organizational transformation, and/or market developments.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional writing, reading, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
