About the Role

This role is for a Senior Product Owner to join the team and shape the future of the product landscape. You will bring previous product ownership or management experience, energy, and a strategic mindset to drive engaging user experiences, strong product ownership, and a clear platform focus supporting AZP’s vision and objectives. You will own the overall roadmap for your product journeys or platforms, driving the business change agenda to deliver accountable outcomes. You will also provide line management and thought leadership to Product Owners, ensuring Scrum teams align on business outcomes and roadmap priorities. You will be a clear thinker with vision, passion, energy, and attention to detail, with a drive to keep learning, improve ways of working, and support others to succeed, while being a genuine team player.

Responsibilities

  • Own, develop and communicate the capability roadmap and vision, maintaining the high-level plan and feature catalogue.
  • Continuously communicate the product vision to technical teams and business stakeholders, balancing short-term business outcomes with long-term strategy.
  • Maintain a clear view of platform upgrades and feature benefits, aligning them to business requirements and change priorities.
  • Make business priority decisions based on objectives, relative cost and effort, and ensure effective sequencing of delivery across the roadmap.
  • Work closely with Heads of Change and project leads so feature requests are understood and supported through effective communication and reporting.
  • Ensure capability resource requirements are aligned across the platform for both project delivery and business-as-usual activity, coordinating dependencies through the right governance.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define non-functional requirements and support a consistent set of standards across the platform.
  • Clearly articulate release definitions, including new features, architecture considerations and, where appropriate, technical debt.
  • Maintain oversight of technical enablers and infrastructure sequencing, ensuring the required technical capability is understood, prioritised and supported in the backlog.
  • Ensure the platform or product supports overall business strategy as well as business-as-usual change activity.
  • Make sure initiatives have defined business cases and that outputs are aligned to deliver the required change and business outcomes.
  • Measure whether delivered changes achieve the intended outcomes and use these insights to refine future backlog development.
  • Proactively manage issues, risks and dependencies across the platform, taking action and escalating clearly where needed.
  • Secure funding and resources as appropriate, and present the vision and proposed features at each Program Increment planning session.
  • Lead the business element of Pre-PI planning, working with stakeholders to define inputs, milestones and high-level objectives for upcoming planning cycles.
  • Build and lead a high-performing product ownership team that is fit for purpose, efficient, effective and focused on delivering quality outcomes.
  • Provide consistent leadership across the product or platform area, supporting aligned ways of working, testing approaches and collaboration across teams.
