About the Role

The Junior Research Analyst will support the delivery of research projects, conduct analyses, contribute to written research reports, and provide analytical support to clients and the research team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in assigned areas of the staffing industry and produce comprehensive reports communicating key business intelligence and analysis.
  • Research and write analyses on current staffing industry events and trends, including financial analysis and internet-based research.
  • Participate in data collection via surveys and manipulation of publicly available data for group projects.
  • Develop technical expertise in software and staffing industry business practices.
  • Collaborate with coworkers to develop extensions of current research product offerings and plan new research-related offerings.
  • Build general expertise in staffing and contingent work by monitoring relevant news and industry developments.
  • Attend and participate in conferences, assisting with planning activities, speaker recruitment, and presentation support.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in research and analytical skills.
  • Possess well-developed analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate ability in manipulating and analysing data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Show demonstrated ability to produce clear and effective business writing, including research reports and articles.
  • Communicate research findings clearly and persuasively, both in writing and verbally, to executive audiences.
  • Select appropriate chart types, tables, and diagrams to communicate research findings effectively.
  • Demonstrate attention to visual clarity and overall presentation quality.
  • Be open to learning new concepts and tools, with the ability to develop new skills as required.
  • Be comfortable working with research-related software and adapting to new challenges.
  • Balance detailed execution with an understanding of the wider context, prioritizing critical elements.
  • Manage competing priorities and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Demonstrate tangible results or outcomes from previous work or projects.
  • Work effectively with others and contribute positively to team outcomes.
  • Build trust through reliability, professionalism, and a constructive approach to problem-solving.
  • Be comfortable working in flexible, collaborative team environments and willing to support colleagues.
  • Take responsibility for work, acknowledge mistakes, and learn from feedback.
  • Have a strong understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint), search engines, generative AI and other online research tools.
  • Familiarity with SIA research, methodology, standards, and report production is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the contingent workforce, staffing, HR, labour market issues, or the procurement of contingent labour is advantageous.
  • Experience in business journalism or professional writing is advantageous.
  • A degree or equivalent professional experience is advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications such as the CFA are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in an additional language is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Python programming is advantageous.
