About the Role
Reporting to the Site Leader and Operations Leader, this role is responsible for the efficient shipping/receiving of packaging and production materials in a fast-paced, just-in-time (JIT) food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and teamwork among Team Members.
- Conducts pre-shift huddles and provides feedback for Team Members.
- Leads, coaches, mentors, and trains Team Members.
- Oversees the receipt and warehousing of incoming ingredients and packaging materials.
- Manages all material transfers to production.
- Schedules all drivers, trucks, and carriers.
- Ensures inventory accuracy and manages the cycle counting process.
- Assists the planning team with managing inventory levels.
- Ensures Operations Management System (OMS) procedures are followed, including entering inventory into the operating system.
- Ensures all health and safety and food safety principles are followed and adhered to.
- Maintains excellent working relationships and teamwork with internal departments, external customers, and suppliers.
- Updates the team on daily issues and fosters an environment of continuous improvement.
- Performs additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 1 year of leadership experience.
- Must have a valid forklift operator license (Counter Balance/Raymond Reach) from a recognized training provider.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
