About the Role
This position involves operating machinery such as tow motors and hand mules, dumpers, grinders, and mixers to prepare meat blends. Key responsibilities include material handling, batching, quality checks, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, tear down, and operate tow motor and hand mules, dumpers, grinders, and mixers.
- Move buckets weighing 280 pounds and tanks weighing 2900 pounds of final ground meat from holding cooler to grinding room.
- Move 200 pounds of meat with a shovel or fork from strainers, correctors, or combos.
- Add water, cures, seasoning, corn syrup, and other ingredients to meat blends for correct batching.
- Perform necessary weight and process checks.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
- Maintain general manufacturing practices.
- Participate in position rotations, including tow motor operation.
- Complete all required paperwork and accurately record and report product information into the computer.
- Complete all required paperwork and SAP functions.
- Perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Obtain tow motor certification.
- Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP, and SQF requirements.
- Read and write proficiently; complete on-the-job paperwork and communicate effectively across all management levels.
- Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
- Perform any other work assigned by management.
Requirements
- 3 months of work history with the same employer.
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination.
- Ability to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
- Ability to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
- Ability to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.

Skills
- Machine Operator experience preferred.
- Manufacturing setting experience preferred.
- RF Scanner experience preferred.
