About the Role
This position is responsible for forming and hanging all varieties of hams according to proper weights, circumferences, and methods of hanging. In addition, this position sets up, operates and tears down various machines and stuffers.
Responsibilities
- Stuff product into metal forms and put the spring covers on the forms.
- Move up to 900 pounds of product on racks.
- Dump massages and put meat into the stuffer.
- Obtain hams from tanks, label, tipper tie, and hang-on racks.
- Pull netting onto horns.
- Obtain racks, hooks, sticks, forms, and supplies.
- Clear any jams on the tipper tie or sizer.
- Assist with washing forms.
- Learn and follow all safety procedures.
- Freeze and defrost product; readjust 60-pound stick of meat on rack.
- Maintain clean work area; wash and sanitize room and equipment as needed.
- Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
- Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
- Perform any other work as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum of 20 pounds frequently.
- Ability and willingness to use hands and arms in handling, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating various items.
- Ability and willingness to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
- Ability and willingness to use rapid mental/muscular coordination constantly.
- Ability and willingness to reach high and low levels.
- Ability and willingness to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
- Ability and willingness to navigate through confined spaces.
- Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
- 3 months of work history with the same employer.
- Not accepting rehires.
- Certain roles at Tyson require background checks.

Skills
- Machine Operator experience preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
- RF Scanner experience preferred
