About the Role

Prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications in accordance with state regulations and institution policy. Serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and the support team, maintaining high accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. Responsible for patient care, documentation, quality control, and quality improvement, while providing training and education to various healthcare professionals and students.

Responsibilities

  • Check room daily for adequate stock to facilitate continuous exam flow and maintain appropriate inventory.
  • Assess factors that may contraindicate procedures, such as medication contraindications, patient risk for reaction, patient history, laboratory results, insufficient preparation, or artifacts.
  • Provide information to patients, healthcare providers, students, and the public concerning the role and responsibilities of individuals in the profession.
  • Independently perform routine and complex Ultrasound cases, accurately demonstrating understanding of anatomy and pathology through proper imaging techniques.
  • Ensure precise, complete, and accurate data entry and image management in systems like EPIC and PACS.
  • Accurately and independently perform procedures, identify, and resolve issues, seeking expertise in the technical area.
  • Perform quality control activities on equipment and collaborate to resolve image quality issues.
  • Participate in and lead continuing education in-service programs, read professional publications, review procedure manuals, and attend trainings.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program required.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • RVT certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required within 18 months of entry into the role.
  • RDMS-AB, RDMS-OB or RDMS-PS certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
  • RVS - Registered Vascular Specialist by Cardiovascular Credentialing International may substitute for the RVT requirement.
  • 3 years Radiology experience required (any/all modalities).
