About the Role
Join CIBC’s Capital Markets team as an Executive Director, Cash Equities, to expand our Institutional Equities presence in the US market. You will cover US cash accounts trading Canadian equities, prospect for and open new US accounts, and help shape CIBC's identity in the US market for northbound flow. Responsibilities include cross-selling CIBC products, acting as a business analyst for trading product development, and leveraging AI tools to drive performance.
Responsibilities
- Cover US cash accounts trading Canadian equities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients.
- Prospect for and open new US accounts.
- Cross-sell CIBC products.
- Act as a business analyst for technology, supporting the development and enhancement of trading products.
- Collaborate closely with the Program Trading Team.
- Leverage generative AI, Bloomberg, EMS & OMS platforms, and analytical tools such as Excel, Python, and Tableau to drive insights and performance.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Equity desk.
- Generate trading ideas based on research sales input and desk color.
- Trade different styles such as risk-arbitrage and special situations, and traditional cash/block trading.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in institutional equities.
- Proven track record covering US accounts trading Canadian equities.
- Strong, established relationships with US institutional clients.
- Ability to build trust and credibility.
- Ability to position CIBC for growth in the US market.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI, Bloomberg, EMS & OMS platforms.
- Comfortable using Excel.
- Experience with Python and Tableau is an asset.
