About the Role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) Deutschland is seeking a Specialist (m/f/d) Protection & Legal Advice (Parental Leave Replacement) in Bavaria, to start as soon as possible, part-time (30 hrs./week), limited until 15.06.2027. This role focuses on preventing and identifying human trafficking for exploitation, particularly within the 'Lichtblicke' project, which supports vulnerable asylum seekers and refugees in initial accommodations who may be affected by human trafficking and gender-based violence.

Responsibilities

Design low-threshold peer-to-peer educational activities on human trafficking, based on personal experience as a victim.
Conduct workshops with residents in refugee accommodations on human trafficking.
Prepare digital and analog culturally sensitive information materials.
Develop content for a multiplier training, including training materials.
Conduct multiplier trainings with victims of human trafficking.
Collaborate with the project manager and the national implementation team on the further development of materials and measures.

Requirements

University degree or experience in protection (e.g., protection from human trafficking or violence; support for refugees or vulnerable persons) or other relevant experience (e.g., conducting workshops).
Personal experience as a victim of human trafficking in Europe (as defined by the Palermo Protocol), having received support from specialized counseling centers in Germany, and a desire to conduct educational work for other potential victims and highlight available support options.
Potential prior residence in accommodation for asylum seekers/refugees.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ideally, experience in adult education or participation in awareness campaigns and knowledge transfer.
Language skills at B2 level for at least one of the two languages German or English according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Language skills at A2-B1 level for the other language.
Enjoyment of independent work and teamwork in a supra-regional team operating in multiple federal states.
