About the Role
The Tableau, BI Platforms - Systems Admin, Architect will join the Data Services team to design and develop data applications and integrations for eBay’s global business. This hands-on role involves leading data technology activities, providing architectural solutions, managing software development teams, and overseeing the delivery of functional and technical components for data catalog solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain software and hardware for BI applications in Production, DEV, and QA environments.
- Provide BI administration including security, patching, capacity planning, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
- Monitor system and infrastructure health and performance.
- Maintain Linux server environments in both on-premise and cloud settings.
- Design and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with development and business teams to resolve issues and maintain a healthy SDLC.
- Implement solutions for data governance, security, and compliance.
- Maintain standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL and Linux/Shell.
- Experience administering Linux servers including patching and user access management.
- Understanding of Data Warehousing and Relational database concepts.
- Ability to automate BI platform activities using Python or Shell scripting.
- Experience building Jenkins pipelines and GitHub actions.
- Ability to build and maintain dashboards for BI user tracking and usage monitoring.
- Ability to build frameworks for report server upgrades and data source refreshes via REST APIs.
- Strong project and time management skills with the ability to handle competing priorities.
- Strong written and oral English communication skills.
- Strong understanding of BI technologies and concepts.
