About the Role
Responsible for selling investment management services to institutional clients, including active equity/fixed income strategies, private assets, hedge funds, and outsourcing services. The role involves driving sales of funds and separately managed accounts, as well as offering additional products like transition management and custom portfolio solutions. This position develops and directs short-term operational plans, acting as a bridge between mid-term strategy and daily sales activities.
Responsibilities
- Expand sales of Institutional Clients (Corporate Pension /Financial Institution including distributors)
- Expand sales of broader asset management services e.g. single asset class solutions, CPS and Consulting
- Coordinate/collaborate with other Client Services team members and Investment team members in the development of a solution-based sales strategy to clients
- Develop Revenue and AUM Acquisition Plan
- Meet and exceed annual financial targets as agreed with MD
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Institutions market segment, existing and prospective client relationships and solutions-based strategy
- Deliver value-added advice and investment solutions that help clients manage the investment process around planning/governance, asset allocation and strategy implementation and performance reporting and evaluation
- Work closely with marketing and product groups to develop a solution-based value proposition for the Institutions segment
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts/resources
Requirements
- More than 15 years of experience in the investment management industry or related fields with a successful track record in sales and/or sales management
- In-depth knowledge of investment products, including private assets, the asset management industry
- Successful sales experience in the financial industry or related fields
- Demonstrated knowledge of solution based selling techniques and persuasive communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within the team
- High level of personal integrity and professionalism
- Actual experience and knowledge of Investment Management
- Native-level Japanese proficiency and communication skills are mandatory
- Business-level English communication skills are required, including the ability to handle email correspondence, prepare client visit memos for overseas colleagues, and conduct client briefings
