About the Role
Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 that prioritizes meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. This posting is for an existing vacancy for a Commissionaire.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured
- Escorting contractors and visitors as required
- Maintaining professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
- Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment
- Providing assistance to employees, clients and visitors
- Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary
- Other duties as required by the client
- Ability to stand/sit for longer periods of time
- Making sure area of work is always monitored
- Able to conduct patrols and respond to alarms
Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to complete frequent patrols
- Ability to speak/read/communicate in English (fluently)
- Ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
- Ability to obtain security clearance (resident in Canada 5 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
- Highly reliable
- Work well under pressure
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask
- Professional who takes pride in your dress, deportment and performance at all times
Skills
- French language proficiency (asset)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent reception skills
