About the Role

Together AI seeks a Commercial Counsel to support infrastructure agreements and growth-driving deals. This role involves partnering with Infrastructure, Sales, Finance, Security, and Procurement teams, balancing speed with risk management. The position requires operating across both infrastructure procurement and commercial sales agreements, rather than focusing narrowly on contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations for GPU and cloud capacity, colocation, power, data center space, networking, and related infrastructure-services agreements.
  • Negotiate terms to align with customer contract commitments, ensuring capacity, service levels, security, and data protection obligations are met.
  • Handle export and trade-control requirements, including end-use and end-user conditions, for compute and hardware deals.
  • Develop templates, playbooks, and scalable workflows for infrastructure dealmaking to ensure repeatability and support growth.
  • Manage enterprise commercial agreements, including master agreements, order forms, data processing terms, security exhibits, and NDAs, serving as the legal point of contact for Sales.
  • Support go-to-market and partnership deals, such as collaboration, reseller, and co-sell structures.
  • Build templates, playbooks, and scalable workflows for sales deals to ensure repeatability and clear escalation paths.
  • Manage procurement transactions across the company, establishing request, review, and approval processes, baseline terms, and tooling.
  • Develop and maintain the company's library of commercial and vendor templates and default negotiating positions for scalable processes.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active bar license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial and technology transactions.
  • Substantial in-house experience at an infrastructure company.
  • Experience supporting deals for purchasing compute and critical infrastructure.
  • Experience with partner and strategic alliances agreements.
  • Experience with enterprise commercial deals.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy regimes (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
  • Working knowledge of regulatory regimes (EU AI Act, EU Data Act, DORA).
  • Working knowledge of security terms (data processing agreements, security addenda).
  • Familiarity with export controls and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCPA, anti-bribery, anti-corruption).
  • Ability to communicate legal and technical points clearly to non-lawyers.
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-moving legal team, with sound judgment for ownership and escalation.
  • Desire to learn and build with AI tools for self-sufficient and rapid operation.
