About the Role

The Preschool Site Supervisor oversees the daily operation of the child development center, maintains professional relationships with students, parents, and staff, and addresses concerns promptly. This role upholds licensing regulations, oversees child development assessments, and facilitates staff development.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Center.
• Work in partnership with the other Bayview Site Supervisor to oversee operations and team development for the infant, toddler, and preschool program.
• Responsible for monitoring and following through on required assessments and screenings.
• Responsible for meeting Community Care Licensing requirements, federal, local, and CDC guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians and children, and meet their cultural and linguistic needs.
• Responsible for supervising, training, and evaluating preschool staff.
• Maintain and update necessary documentation for all children and families at the Center.
• Monitor and approve ordering of supplies and materials.
• Coordinate and monitor volunteers and interns.
• Ensure program staffing needs, including recruitment and hiring, are met.
• Work to address parent/guardian issues when difficulties arise.
• Plan and coordinate Preschool Lead Teacher meetings to address Center goals and issues.
• Work effectively with other FACES employees and programs.
• Interview incoming family members upon enrollment, provide introductions to Center staff, and orientation to Center policies and procedures.
• Foster and model a positive, professional, and team-orientated environment for staff and interns.
• Work in partnership with other organizations, consultants, and professionals.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Build teamwork and facilitate a cooperative environment with all staff.
• Work with staff to identify and address exceptional needs of children.
• Monitor and assist in developing, planning, and implementing Preschool classroom environments and curricular standards.
• Attend required meetings and training for continuous professional development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children through active supervision and adherence to safety procedures.

Requirements

• Hold or qualify for the California Child Development Site Supervisor permit
• Three plus years managing a child development center
• Three plus years managing staff
• Strong organizational and conflict management skills
• Five years classroom experience in ECE setting
• Experience with state or federally funded child care programs preferred.
• Completed 12 units that cover infant toddler growth and development & curriculum preferred
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet required state, federal, local, and CDC standards (including but not limited to fingerprint clearance, negative TB test, First Aid, CPR)

• $90,000 - $105,000
