About the Role

Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Supervisor with legal experience for its New York office. This role involves supervising a team, analyzing performance indicators, and acting as a liaison between AR specialists and other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of AR Specialists with day-to-day workflow.
  • Analyze, develop, and track key performance indicators to ensure team accountability.
  • Act as a liaison between specialists and internal teams/departments (e.g., billing/eBilling, rates, conflicts, billing attorneys).
  • Participate in interviewing and training new hires.
  • Manage daily collection workflow based on assigned billing attorneys and/or clients.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new candidates/staff.
  • Provide constructive and timely annual performance evaluations.
  • Process write-offs pertaining to A/R and document detailed reasoning.
  • Escalate clients/payors/billing attorneys to firm management to minimize financial risks.
  • Prepare collection procedures, monitor and pursue outstanding A/R balances, document actions taken, create follow-ups, and establish payment arrangements/settlements of aged A/R per firm policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least five (5) years of collections experience in the legal industry required.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, California Collections Laws, and Legal Process.
  • Proficient in data analysis.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.

  • Familiarity with Aderant and ARCS is a plus.
