About the Role
M&J Engineering, D.P.C. is seeking a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to lead a collaborative team supporting construction consulting services for governmental and commercial clients. This role requires professional knowledge in risk assessment, exposure assessment, industrial hygiene, and occupational safety, with an interest in applying multi-disciplinary approaches to research potential effects from exposure to various materials, chemicals, or biological agents.
Responsibilities
- Apply professional environmental science competence with specialized knowledge of chemistry, industrial hygiene and biological science.
- Act as a team member to resolve client EH&S concerns and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct research, development, and planning to complete comprehensive reports for client contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with team members.
- Maintain and develop excellent client relationships.
Requirements
- M.S. or M.P.H. in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge, training, or education in exposure assessment, risk assessment, toxicology, epidemiology, chemistry, and/or biostatistics preferred.
- Experience in assessing workplace exposures and health and safety hazards.
- Experience in conducting retrospective exposure assessments.
- Familiarity with EPA/NIOSH/OSHA risk assessment methodology.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector License.
- NYSDOL Mold Assessor.
- EPA Risk Assessor.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field.
- OHST/CIH/ASP/CSP/GIT preferred.
- NYCDEP Investigator preferred.
- 40-hr HAZWOPER/ 30-Hour OSHA Construction certification preferred.
