About the Role

The VP, Distribution Operations serves as a critical operational leader within A+E’s Distribution organization, overseeing business operations, analytics, compliance, budget management, technical operations coordination, and operational strategy supporting revenue generation across linear, VOD, OTT, AVOD, FAST, and emerging distribution platforms. This role drives operational excellence through process optimization, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and data-driven decision making while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and financial objectives. The position leads a small operations team and serves as a key liaison across business and technology teams to support scalable growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize sales operations to improve efficiency, scalability, and business performance.
  • Provide data-driven reporting, analysis, and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial processes to ensure operational effectiveness and fiscal responsibility.
  • Administer contracts, policies, and governance processes while ensuring compliance with internal standards and external requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, leverage automation and AI solutions, and drive continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate across departments to support account teams, improve execution, and deliver exceptional business outcomes.
  • Lead high-impact projects, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and provide operational support for evolving business priorities.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in distribution operations, sales operations, finance, business operations, or a related media environment.
  • At least 5 years experience managing budgets, contracts, compliance programs, reporting, and operational workflows.
  • At least 2 years of leading, coaching, or managing a small team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence/reporting tools.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships and collaborate effectively across Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, Research, Technology, Content Operations, and other cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and operational problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, influence stakeholders, lead cross-functional initiatives, and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance reporting, compliance monitoring, forecasting, workflow efficiency, and operational decision-making while maintaining appropriate data governance and compliance standards.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguous and quickly changing environments.
