About the Role

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will shape the organization's technical direction, make lasting architectural decisions, and ensure engineering efforts align with business outcomes. You will work with leadership to solve complex problems and establish high standards for software development across the company.

Responsibilities

• Elevate technical judgment through design reviews, architectural guidance, and mentorship
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cross-system issues
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability
• Engage with product and executive stakeholders to assess feasibility, cost, and risk
• Drive architectural decisions and technical direction across multiple teams
• Build and ship software to solve ambiguous technical problems
• Set engineering standards through code, design patterns, and technical approach
• Own cross-cutting concerns including scalability, reliability, security, and cloud cost efficiency
• Identify and consolidate converging efforts to prevent technical debt
• Design and evolve system architectures for B2B portals, internal platforms, and APIs
• Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions and technology tradeoffs

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience
• Deep architectural experience designing systems spanning multiple services or domains
• Exceptional hands-on full-stack engineering skills
• Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages
• Proven ability to own the full software development lifecycle
• Experience with cloud architecture and resource-efficient infrastructure design at scale
• Strong understanding of SQL databases, caching layers, event-driven architectures, and data pipelines
• Track record of driving technical alignment across teams with competing priorities
• Ability to translate between business and technical language
• Must have permission to work in the US on a permanent basis
