About the Role
This is a hands-on role at the core of our daily financial processes, where you will maintain up-to-date books, ensure invoice processing, maintain cash flow transparency, and facilitate smooth year-end closing preparation. You will work closely with our Finance Controller and Accounting Assistant, reporting directly to the Co-CEOs.
Responsibilities
- Independently handle ongoing financial accounting.
- Book all transactions in DATEV Unternehmen Online, including incoming and outgoing invoices, bank, and credit card transactions.
- Reconcile and clarify accounts, including open item lists.
- Prepare and execute payment transactions.
- Handle VAT pre-registration and process VAT returns for our Swiss tax office.
- Maintain global cash flow tracking and proactively report deviations to management.
- Create foreign cost lists (DATEV exports) for project managers to reconcile with internal budgets.
- Support year-end closing preparation in close collaboration with our tax advisor.
- Ensure all financial data is maintained in the correct system.
Requirements
- Completed commercial apprenticeship with a focus on accounting, e.g., as a certified accountant, tax assistant, or tax specialist.
- Proficient knowledge of DATEV Unternehmen Online, applied confidently and consistently.
- Several years of professional experience in financial accounting with a holistic understanding of accounting relationships.
- Independent and precise working style with a passion for numbers.
- Solid understanding of German tax law and accounting standards.
- Experience with international billing contexts, ideally including Switzerland.
- Precise and reliable: You identify issues others overlook and leave nothing unfinished.
- Proactive communication: You report problems before they become bottlenecks.
- Enjoy leading and developing your area of responsibility independently.
- Native German or C2 level (written and spoken) and English language skills.
