About the Role

Our pet bathers are an integral part of the team in our busy salons, focusing on bathing dogs of all sizes and temperaments to ensure they look their best. Additional responsibilities include brushing, trimming nails, and performing add-on services. We are an Employee-owned and operated company that is expanding, which provides many growth opportunities within the company.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety, security, and well-being of each pet.
• Handles pets with skill and care, following all Safe Handling program procedures.
• Consults with customers to ensure satisfaction and interacts in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
• Maintains all records neatly and orderly.
• Performs all aspects of the grooming service to expectations of quality, following customer requests and established procedures.
• Works in an organized and hygienic manner, keeping the work area clean and sanitizing tools between pets.
• Understands and appropriately uses products according to label directions.
• Assists management in maintaining inventory by reporting stock levels.
• Treats equipment and tools with care and assists with simple maintenance.
• Reports mechanical failures to management in writing and follows up.
• Interacts with management and staff to ensure smooth salon operation and high service quality.
• Interacts well with fellow employees and follows management directives.
• Maintains a high level of productivity while prioritizing safety and quality.
• Helps meet demand by accepting additional grooms when possible.
• Mentors, guides, trains, and coaches new and less experienced associates when qualified and requested.
• Participates in “Buddy Training” to expand grooming services.
• Suggests beneficial add-on services and retail products.
• Increases grooming business by attracting new customers and encouraging referrals.
• Uses provided street marketing tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds.
• Must be able to be on feet eight hours per day.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
• Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• Must possess a love of animals and patience when handling pets.
• Displays a professional manner at all times.
