Responsibilities

• Delivers newscasts, announces music playlists, and provides weather, traffic, and sports updates.
• Comments on music and other topics of interest, and may interview guests.
• Writes, reviews, and edits various broadcast content, including news copy, PSAs, and commercials.
• Participates in promotional events.
• Operates control boards for studios and remote programming.
• Regulates program timing, operates syndicated programming, and plays commercials.
• Monitors the technical quality of on-air programming.
• Censors live programs to ensure compliance with broadcast regulations.
• Processes time-out programming for accurate playback.
• Checks studio equipment and reports technical malfunctions.
• Handles emergency inserts and updates.

Requirements

• Socially informed and perceptive, with up-to-date knowledge of local and national trends.
• Possesses a pleasant, charismatic, and well-controlled voice with excellent pronunciation.
• Demonstrates well-rounded communication skills for conducting interviews.
• Ability to make others feel comfortable and open up on air.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with proficient grammar.
• Proficient in media production and broadcast systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking.
• May require selling skills.
• May require proficiency in other languages, such as Spanish.
• Must have flexible availability on weekends, overnights, and holidays.
