About the Role
Manage core revenue accounting processes, drive operational improvements, and support new business initiatives as Spotify continues to scale. We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with curiosity, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for improving processes through technology and automation.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounting for Spotify’s Paid Revenue business, including Premium, Partner, and Other Paid Revenue streams.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and SOX requirements.
- Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and partner with leadership to implement scalable solutions.
- Drive end-to-end process improvement initiatives, including proposal development, cross-functional coordination, testing, and implementation.
- Partner with Finance, Product, and Engineering teams to support new business initiatives and evolving revenue models.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations while collaborating with global team members to deliver key operational metrics.
- Support system implementations, process enhancements, and other special projects as needed.
Requirements
- 6+ years of accounting experience, ideally supporting SaaS, digital commerce, payments, or digital media businesses at scale.
- A combination of Big 4 and industry experience.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency with data and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
