About the Role
The Gelato Maker produces delicious gelato according to Eataly’s authentic Italian recipes. This role reports to the CDC of Pastry and Regional Pastry Chef.
Responsibilities
- Produces gelato according to the daily production schedule
- Ensures product meets quality standards established by the Regional Pastry Chef and CDC
- Follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures, and health and safety regulations
- Washes and cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production
- Maintains a sanitary workstation in compliance with health and safety standards
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
Requirements
- 1+ years in a pastry preparation position
- Basic math and measuring skills
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Ability to use commercial gelato and pastry baking equipment
