About the Role
Our Toronto office seeks a Structural Engineer or Designer to contribute to office growth, design buildings, and offer technical expertise for projects in Life Sciences, Tech, Civic, Education, Mixed-use, and Healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Design of new building structures, alterations, renovations, and additions.
- Experience with structural steel design.
- Plan and coordinate projects with Architectural, Electrical, and Mechanical consultants.
- Attend coordination meetings.
- Collaborate with engineers and drafting colleagues to assemble tender documents and/or reports.
- Respond to Client’s request for proposals.
- Design and detailing of structures including calculations and computer modeling for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
- Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer with PEO would be an asset.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of structural engineering experience.
- Experience with lateral models is an asset.
- Experience in designing steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures for buildings.
- Ability to use design software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, RAM STEEL and SAFE.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Comfortable with working at heights and confined spaces at times.
