About the Role

Our Toronto office seeks a Structural Engineer or Designer to contribute to office growth, design buildings, and offer technical expertise for projects in Life Sciences, Tech, Civic, Education, Mixed-use, and Healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Design of new building structures, alterations, renovations, and additions.
  • Experience with structural steel design.
  • Plan and coordinate projects with Architectural, Electrical, and Mechanical consultants.
  • Attend coordination meetings.
  • Collaborate with engineers and drafting colleagues to assemble tender documents and/or reports.
  • Respond to Client’s request for proposals.
  • Design and detailing of structures including calculations and computer modeling for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
  • Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with PEO would be an asset.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience with lateral models is an asset.
  • Experience in designing steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures for buildings.
  • Ability to use design software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, RAM STEEL and SAFE.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Comfortable with working at heights and confined spaces at times.
