About the Role

This role will work closely with senior professionals on the Capital Markets team to build TPG’s Broker Dealer and execute transactions. The TPG Broker Dealer (BD) serves as the investment banking arm for Capital Markets and is a critical component of the firm’s infrastructure for delivering financing solutions to portfolio companies and driving alpha within funds. This position will engage in deal activity, collaborate directly with the head of Capital Markets, and work with TPG’s Executive Office and firm leadership to enhance BD capabilities, ensure AI integration, and update the technology stack. While leveraged finance is the primary product, this role will offer exposure to Lev Fin, Equity, Real Assets/Securitizations, and Real Estate.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new deal leverage reads for deal teams.
  • Construct financing processes and associated timelines for deal execution.
  • Identify target lender/investor bases.
  • Lead initial lender/investor outreach.
  • Provide product expertise for deal teams, including guidance on marketing materials, lender models, etc.
  • Work with senior Capital Markets professionals on structuring and negotiation of financing grids and commitment papers.
  • Redevelop the BD’s tech stack with a focus on AI integration.
  • Integrate AI into the Capital Markets workflow across products and geographies.
  • Participate in the BD budgeting process, including revenue by product and platform.
  • Re-imagine the BD’s pipeline trackers.
  • Articulate the BD’s and TPG’s broader wallet and portfolio activity.
  • Report BD activity for Executive Office consumption.
  • Coordinate BD capabilities across platforms.
  • Develop and refine processes to target opportunistic transactions.

Requirements

  • At least 2+ years of relevant investment banking experience (e.g., leveraged finance, financial sponsors, liability management, credit) or similar experience at a major direct lender/credit fund.
  • Interest in AI and technology.
  • Interest in Business Development and how Alternative Asset Managers are valued.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Strong organizational and process management skills.
  • Acute attention to detail while working on multiple, time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Experience and desire to use and innovate with AI language models (e.g., Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT).
