About the Role
This leadership role involves embedding into a product team for a leading UK procurement platform. You will make and be accountable for architectural decisions that will define the platform's next five years, focusing on both technical challenges and people, direction, and standards.
Responsibilities
- Set technical standards for the team.
- Decide how agentic tooling is used safely at scale.
- Serve as the client's primary contact for straight answers on risk, effort, and trade-offs.
- Make key architectural decisions for the platform.
- Define team-wide standards for safe use of agentic tooling on a live, high-traffic platform.
- Lead across multiple clients and contexts over time.
Requirements
- Strong experience at Lead level, or senior ready to step up, in commercial, production environments.
- Comfortable working across both PHP/Laravel and Python.
- Shipped LLM or agentic tooling into real systems.
- Ability to define standards for safe team-wide use of agentic tooling.
- Ability to make engineers around you better through code review, mentoring, and setting standards.
- Solid front end experience, ideally React or TypeScript.
- Willingness to work with Laravel Nova on this project.
- Based within 30 miles of Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, or London.
