About the Role

The COTA Event Operations team is seeking a motivated, organized, and enthusiastic individual to work in the live entertainment industry. This role offers the chance to develop operations and project management skills and gain valuable real-world experience within the core Events & Hospitality team, exposing the crew to key functions of racing and live entertainment.

Responsibilities

• Implement setup standards for all meetings and events, in tandem with the Event Services team.
• Ensure daily checklist is completed.
• Ensure all Event Ops service procedures are delivered according to COTA standards.
• Maintenance and cleanliness of event spaces and equipment at all times.
• Interaction with guests during or after events, ensuring satisfaction.
• Answer customer questions and accommodate special requests.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have a Valid Texas Driver's License (or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire).
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to multi-task and follow strict timelines.
• Comfortable being active for extended periods.
• Ability to operate or train to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, or scissor lifts.
• Event day hours, with the ability to work long days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to organize assigned work, set time frames, prioritize and meet goals.
• Ability to establish priorities and manage time effectively.
• Confidence when working with both internal and external contacts.
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Must possess a quality teamwork attitude.
• Effectively work in a professional team environment.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Periods of standing, moving through an event space and traveling throughout the entire venue with bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 25 lbs.
• Events may be in an outdoor setting with movement between temporary structures, buildings, and different terrains.
• The noise level in the work environment is moderate however, during events, the noise level may be loud.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
