About the Role
Zurich North America is seeking an AVP, Underwriting Director, Construction Property to join our Specialties Construction team. This role will manage data analytics, steward underwriting quality, and drive tool & product innovation. You will analyze and underwrite complex new and renewal business as a subject matter expert, supporting customer service and profitable growth within the Construction Property segment.
Responsibilities
- Manage data analytics-based initiatives at a national level, providing insights and tangible action items.
- Partner with Technical Underwriting in guideline and Business Strategic Directive development.
- Spearhead SBU led efforts in underwriting quality, including file/regulatory documentation and Technical Underwriting Reviews/Audits.
- Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels of highly complex assignments at the highest authority limits, utilizing a high degree of technical complexity and coordination.
- Coordinate and support global referrals as required.
- Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in products and industry.
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manuals.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
