About the Role

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a highly motivated Energy Engineer to join our growing team. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong skills in data analysis, interpersonal communication, and project management. The successful candidate will work directly with energy team members to develop energy, water, and greenhouse gas/carbon emission strategies and initiatives to support our commercial office and industrial real estate clients. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing team that is spearheading greenhouse gas reduction programs for major national clients in the real estate sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of energy-saving strategies and identification of energy efficiency and emissions reduction measures for existing buildings.
  • Calculate energy/cost savings and return on investment using spreadsheets and other tools.
  • Prepare preliminary cost estimates for recommended measures.
  • Perform ASHRAE Level I & II Energy Audits in existing buildings.
  • Support retro-commissioning of existing buildings.
  • Consult with clients or other engineers on climate control systems, energy modeling, data logging, building automation systems, lighting/daylighting design, sustainable design, and energy auditing.
  • Understand energy efficiency and sustainability ordinances for various cities and states.
  • Understand commercial building HVAC systems and high-performance alternatives.
  • Review ARCH and MEP drawings for existing buildings and systems.
  • Support applications for utility or other local incentives.
  • Provide written technical and non-technical reports for program compliance and ownership review.
  • Support project teams working on client engagements.
  • Function well in interdisciplinary teams with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Regularly review project deliverables for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and budget.
  • Proactively participate in business development efforts to grow Cushman & Wakefield’s ESG practice.
  • Help shape the trajectory of Cushman & Wakefield’s ESG practice.
  • Perform all other duties as needed and assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience developing decarbonization strategies (energy efficiency, renewable energy, green power procurement, RECs, carbon offsets), preferably in commercial real estate.
  • Comfort managing data-driven tasks in Excel and other software platforms, including complex calculations and estimation methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to lead internal and client meetings.
  • Ability to effectively manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • A self-motivator with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 12 days per month.

Salary/Compensations

  • $85,000.00 - $100,000.00
