About the Role
ABC7 KGO-TV is seeking a dedicated anchor and multi-skilled journalist to produce impactful, solution-based news. This role involves anchoring weekend morning newscasts, reporting three days per week, and serving as a fill-in anchor for weekday broadcasts.
Responsibilities
- Anchor newscasts on linear TV and streaming platforms
- Report on local stories from the field and provide live coverage
- Write original copy and edit scripts for digital and broadcast
- Create content and maintain an active presence on social media
- Pitch original stories and develop community contacts
- Represent the station at community and promotional events
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a top 50 market
- Excellent writing skills
- Solid news judgment and ethical decision-making skills
- Ability to shoot video and edit stories for linear and digital platforms
- Proficiency in operating handheld prosumer/consumer cameras
- Superior on-camera presentation
- Must be organized and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
