About the Role
Cotality is seeking a forward-thinking Professional, Quality Management passionate about AI to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and loan operations. This role involves designing and optimizing custom AI assistants to inspect loan files, auditing AI accuracy, and leading root-cause analysis for errors. You will be the vital link between AI initiatives, quality assurance, and operations teams to ensure automated processes are flawless.
Responsibilities
- Help create and train custom AI assistants using tools such as Gemini GEMS or similar specifically tailored to inspect loan files.
- Spot-check loan files already approved by the AI to catch missed errors and ensure the model maintains a high level of accuracy.
- Monitor AI trends, findings, and confidence scores to spot systemic risks, offering strategic recommendations to management to refine the AI models.
- Build automated quality workflows to track performance and flag defects.
- Create and manage protocols for handling complex loan exceptions that the AI flags for human review.
- Lead deep-dive root cause analysis on high-risk defects using Lean Six Sigma tools to prevent errors from happening again.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Quality department, business units, and Cotality teams to resolve defects and guide error-proofing efforts.
- Own project schedules, action items, and deadlines for our AI initiatives.
- Keep management informed with regular updates on defect resolutions, AI performance, and project milestones.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years related experience in Quality Assurance, Risk, or Loan Operations (college education may count for related experience).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for reporting, presentations, and the ability to translate complex AI findings into actionable business insights.
- High aptitude in critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including statistical analytical skills to navigate data sets and evaluate if AI "confidence" matches actual accuracy.
- High level of initiative to improve processes, identify systemic risks, and drive the evolution of the AI model.
- Able to hold teams and individuals accountable to defects, action items, and changes in the process through effective professional influence.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in Lean Six Sigma and/or Root Cause Analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) to distinguish between one-off errors and systemic algorithmic flaws.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills to retrieve, query, and manipulate documents and spreadsheets (Microsoft Office Suite, DB Viz); familiarity with AI performance metrics is a plus.
