About the Role
The Data Technician Lead will be responsible for the physical installation of cabling, overseeing the work of others, surveying work sites to determine best installation practices, coordinating workflow within the unit, and providing on-the-job training to other technicians as needed.
Responsibilities
- Leading technical teams on small- and large-scale projects
- Communicating manpower and material needs to the Project Manager
- Communicating with clients/customers
- Serving as a liaison between office and field, communicating non-confidential information
- Developing project plans including required materials, delivery schedules, completion schedules, manpower requirements, and tool/equipment lists
- Managing the process of tracking tools and materials to prevent loss
- Adhering to safety protocols and completing appropriate documentation
- Maintaining housekeeping for a safe jobsite
- Communicating with other trades on jobsite
- Monitoring project schedule and milestones and providing progress updates
- Reading and understanding architectural, AV, electrical (telecom related), reflected ceiling, telecommunications, and overall site plan drawings
Requirements
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in construction-related software (Plan Grid, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Ability to effectively and professionally push back on other trades
- Ability to resolve conflict both internally and externally
- Ability to create a team atmosphere
- Complete understanding of blueprints and related architectural symbols
- High level of understanding of firestopping principles as they pertain to telecom pathways
- Familiarity with MS Office suite and other applicable software suites
- OSHA 10 certification (minimum)
- Aerial lift certification
- Fall protection certification/training
- Ability to perform physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, stoop, use hands, and reach for more than two-thirds of the time
- Ability to walk and engage in verbal communication or listening for approximately one-third of the time
- Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds
